Spacewalk
| (Christina-Koch-spacewalk) |
When a space astronaut exits a vehicle whenever it is in space, it is called a spacewalk. The spacewalk is also called EVA. Eva means outside activity.
The first person to go on the spacewalk was Alexei Leonov. He was from Russia. The first spacewalk was on March 18, 1965. It was 10 minutes long.
Space White was the first American to walk the spacewalk. His spacewalk during the Gemini 4 mission was on June 3, 1965. White's spacewalk lasted 23 minutes.
• Today, astronauts go on astronauts outside the International Space Station. Spacewalks usually last between five and eight hours depending on the work.
Russian astronaut Anatoly Solovyev holds the world record for most spacewalks. He has been on 16 spacecraft and spent more than 826 hours in space. It's about 3 walking days of walking in space! NASA astronaut Michael Lopez-Allegria holds the U.S. record for most spacewalks. He has done 10 space ks and spent more than 67 hours.
Carrier
Koch has worked in the fields of space instrument development and engineering in the remote scientific field.
Time During this time, she also served as an adjunct faculty at Montgomery College, Maryland, and led a physics laboratory course.
Och Koch served as a research associate in the United States Antarctic Program from 2004 to 2007, spending three and a half years in the Arctic and Antarctic regions.
From 2007 to 2009, Kosh worked as an electrical engineer in the space department of the Applied Physics Laboratory at Johns Hopkins University, focusing on space science instrument development.
The following year, the coach completed a tour of many winter seasons Tuo at Palmer Station in Antarctica and Summit Station in Greenland.
2012 In 2012, he served in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in two capacities: first as a field engineer at NOAA's Global Monitoring Division Baseline Observatory in Barrow Alaska, and then as station chief.
ASTRONAUT CAREER
Koch graduated from the NASA Academy program at GSFC in 2001. He worked as an Electrical Engineer in the High Energy Astrophysics Laboratory at GSFC from 2002 to 2004.
In June 2013, the coach was selected by NASA as part of the astronaut group 21. He completed the training in July 2015, making it available for future missions.
On March 14, 2019, coaches Alexei Ovchinin and Nick Hague launched the International Space Station on the Soyuz MS-12.
Record
Astronaut Christina Koch Breaks Record for Longest Space Mission by a Woman
As part of a long series of upgrades to the ISS Power Systems and Physics Observatories, Koch performed the first all-female spacewalk with Jessica Mir on October 18th.
On April 17, 2019, due to a re-assignment schedule, her mission was extended to return to Earth after 335 days in February 2020 - which will handle Peggy Whitson after 289 days, the longest continuous single in space for a woman.
Addition Also, for the first time astronaut, this NASA mission change has never happened before.
